MOPA receives Balboa Park Sustainability Award

The Museum of Photographic Arts received a 2014 Balboa Park Sustainability Award for the remodel of its Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater. The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership selected MOPA and two other organizations for their sustainability efforts in recent projects.

For the theater remodel, MOPA used products and companies with a lower impact on the environment. This included carpet with low VOCs, reupholstering chairs, and installing state-of-the-art LED lighting. Additionally, MOPA hired local labor and companies to reduce commuting pollution.
