Cy Kuckenbaker Releases SD Study #3

MOPA’s artist-in-residence, Cy Kuckenbaker has released the next video in his San Diego Studies series. After the overwhelming success of his first two videos, which condensed time to show the volume of planes landing and taking off from San Diego’s airport, Kuckenbaker took on the daunting task of focusing on vehicular traffic on the 163 Freeway. Rather than just condense time, in this effort, he reorders the traffic and groups the cars by color. This was, as many of Cy’s efforts are, a laborious process, but one that produced mesmerizing results. Apparently San Diegans love white and gray cars. What does this say about our city and its inhabitants? Watch the video and decide for yourself.
