Defying Gravity: Capturing Jumps in action!
One of the many cool things about photography is that it allows us to freeze a fleeting moment in time! We can stop action in a single frame, allowing us to look at it, examine it, notice all the details, and see what movement really looks like. It’s also a fun technique we can use to create fun, gravity-defying images, making it look like our subjects are floating in the air!
We will look at how cameras make this possible, how different artists and scientists use it, and then we’ll experiment with a variety of creative ideas!
You will need:
- A device to take pictures (Camera, smart phone, or tablet)
- A space with good light – ideally an outdoor space
- Subjects to photograph (other people or objects you can toss without breaking!)
