Spring Camp at Museum of Photographic Arts

Spending Spring Break in San Diego?  We hope that your kids will join us for Spring Camps!  Daily camps will be offered during the week of March 26-30 exploring a variety of photographic skills and creative techniques. These hands-on, exploratory camps are designed for kids ages 8-13.

Daily camps will be offered March 30-April 3  
All camps are 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

$60 per day for MOPA members and Explorer Pass holders
$65 per day for all others
*Sibling discount – 10%

Camps Offered:

Monday 3/30: Sensory Photography 
Learn how to take pictures without looking, explore textures, capture the sounds and smells of Balboa Park, and become inspired by different foods.

Tuesday 3/31: Playing with Color
Sure, we all know color is awesome, but who knew it could be fun too? Make images with super-creative approaches to color!

Wednesday 4/1: Optical Illusions (April Fool’s Day!) 
Use the magic of photography to create images that aren’t what they seem.

Thursday 4/2: Magnify MOPA 
Experiment with optics and magnification through photography!

Friday 4/3: Stop Motion Animation
Create original animated shorts while learning about the art of stop motion animation!

2020 Summer Camps and Intensives

What are your kids doing this summer?  We hope they will join us to learn about photography, video, animation, and much more with creative professional artists – right here at MOPA!  Camps  are designed for kids entering grades 3 through 12, and explore a variety of topics like visual storytelling, animation, and movie making!
