40N˚ kicks off their 2018 Dance Film Festival at the Museum of Photographic Arts’ Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theater in Balboa Park on Friday, September 21st.

Join us at MOPA at 6:30 pm for a pre-screening reception with LIVE DJ, Sarah Hankins (UCSD), meet filmmakers and festival directors before the screening.

Beginning at 7:30 pm, Experimental Portraiture–which features film works ranging from narrative to experimental–addresses the introspective complexities of intimacy, identity, and memory through the lens of visual memoir. Screening will be followed by a short moderated Q&A with filmmakers present and the audience (15-30 min.)

40N˚ Dance Film Festival aims to bring dance and artistic filmmaking to a broader audience while providing a platform for dance and film artists to share their voices with the world, inspiring movers and filmmakers, alike.
