How does music engage people living with dementia? Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization Music & Memory, fights against a broken healthcare system to demonstrate music’s ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those suffering from it.
About the Festival:
Coming of Age is San Diego’s only Film Festival dedicated to promoting, reinforcing and celebrating the process and power of aging.
Every film will feature an introductory statement by Joaquin Anguera, PhD, retired Professor of Gerontology at San Diego State University and Member of the California Commission on Aging.
The five-film series will run weekly, Fridays from May 3 to May 31, 2019, at 7 pm. To make the Festival as inclusive and accessible as possible, admission is free to all films.
Seating is first come first served. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
