Coming of Age Film Festival: Embrace of the Serpent

The story of the relationship between Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and two scientists who work together over the course of 40 years to search the Amazon for a sacred healing plant.

Coming of Age is San Diego’s only Film Festival dedicated to promoting, reinforcing and celebrating the process and power of Aging. To make the Festival as inclusive and accessible as possible, admission is free to all films. Seating and Tickets are on a first come basis. Doors open at 5:30pm for 6pm screenings. The five-film series will run weekly,  from April 27 to May 25, 2018.

Film introductions and Q+A moderation by Mario D Garrett PhD, Professor of Gerontology Professor of Gerontology School of Social Work at SDSU.
