For 46 years, Larry Cohen has been an undisputed king of truly innovative, genre-bending independent cinema. He has worked in horror, blaxploitation, science fiction, comedy, and even historical fiction. He has directed the likes of Betty Davis, Yaphet Kotto, Fred Williamon, Art Lund, Sylvia Sidney, Broderick Crawford, Jose Ferrer, Rip Torn, Michael Moriarty, Alan Arkin, and so many more! In recognition of a lifetime of cinematic achievement, Film Geeks SD are proudly presenting a year-long retrospective series of Cohen’s films at the Museum of Photographic Arts.

Join us on Sunday, February 18th as we kick off the series with The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover, Cohen’s personal favorite of his own works.

The February 18th screening will also include a bonus screening of the new documentary detailing the often guerrilla and convention-defying exploits of this singular director, appropriately titled King Cohen: The Wild World of Filmmaker Larry Cohen! Steve Mitchell, the documentary’s director will also be in attendance!
