Coming of Age Film Festival Presents: Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool

October 6, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - October 6, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

Join us for the third film in the Coming of Age Film Festival series at the Museum of Photographic Arts.

About the Film

Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool (2017)
Written by Matt Greenhalgh (screenplay), Peter Turner and directed by Paul McGuigan
105 minutes

By 1981 we are witnessing the last years of the actor Gloria Grahame during her time in Liverpool, England. Where she met, had an affair with and was ultimately nursed through a serious illness by a younger man. A film that emphasizes their indelible connection regardless of their age difference.

Doors open at 5:30PM and the film begins at 6:00PM. To make the festival as inclusive and accessible as possible, admission is free to all films. No RSVP required!

About the Festival

Coming of Age is San Diego’s only film  festival dedicated to promoting, reinforcing and celebrating the process and power of aging.

Each film will feature an introductory statement by Mario Garrett, PhD, Professor of Gerontology at San Diego State University. For more information, please visit www.mariogarrett.com.
