What does it mean to call a place home?
What story would you tell about your community?
Where do you come from and what do you call home?
This is MOPA’s 8th Annual Youth Exhibition featuring work by students, grades K – 12. Kids were encouraged to use the power of photography, both still photography and video, to explore this year’s theme, My City, Your City. Judged by City Council member, Todd Gloria, freelance photojournalist, Sam Hodgson, arts educator, Annika Nelson and MOPA Executive Director, Deborah Klochko, the winners were chosen on the basis of originality, quality and the artist’s statement within the theme. This exhibition showcases not only the technical abilities of these students, but the unique perspective they have on the world. Come view San Diego through the eyes of a child.
23 works from MOPA’s Youth Exhibition will be on view October 21, 2013 through January 14, 2014 at the Civic Center Branch of the Chula Vista Public Library located at 365 F Street, Chula Vista.
Selected works from MOPA’s Global Engagement Program will be on view at the Downtown Kettner Branch of US Bank located at 1420 Kettner Blvd, San Diego.
Exhibition support provided by Adobe Youth Voices.
