Bern Schwartz embarked on an exciting new chapter in life when he turned his energy to photography at the youthful age of sixty. Inspired by friendships he made with notable photographers of the time, Schwartz’s goal was “to create pictures that are true to the personality of each subject, and [would] stand the test of time…”
Talking With A Friend: Portraits by Bern Schwartz showcases photographs made by the artist from 1977-1978. The exhibition features portraits of Prince Charles, David Hockney, Twiggy, and Zandra Rhodes among others. All of the images come from MOPA’s photography collection, generously donated by The Bern Schwartz Family Foundation in 2017.
This exhibition is made possible by the generous support of The Bern Schwartz Family Foundation and the Gardner Bilingual Fund.
