Coming of Age Film Festival Presents: Firefly Dreams (2001)

This Japanese film tells the story of a troubled teenager sent to the country for the summer where she is asked to care for an aging neighbor with Alzheimer’s disease. The friendship that develops highlights the importance of taking people as they are now—for both of them.

Coming of Age is San Diego’s only Film Festival dedicated to promoting, reinforcing and celebrating the process and power of Aging. To make the Festival as inclusive and accessible as possible, admission is free to all films. Seating and Tickets are on a first come basis. Doors open at 5:30pm for 6pm screenings. 

The five-film series will run weekly,  from April 27 to May 25, 2018

MOPA@SDMA remains a pay-what-you wish museum open Thursdays through Sundays 11:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.
