About Lou Stoumen
Lou Stoumen was an accomplished writer, photographer and filmmaker, who published 10 photography books and earned two Academy Awards for his film productions during a career that spanned more than four decades. He was well known for the deliberate use of text in his images to imply narrative and context and coined “Paper Movie” to describe his publications of photography and words. Stoumen taught at UCLA Film School for two decades before retiring to Sebastopol, Calif. MOPA received his archive in 1992 and established the Lou Stoumen Prize to award working photographers of outstanding merit.
Quick Guide: Install the backgrounds in Zoom using your desktop

Save the image unto your desktop

Open Zoom

Click on settings icon (⚙️) on the top right of your window in Zoom

A window will show up – look at your left-side menu and click ‘virtual
background.’

You will see a dark screen with a plus sign below it — click on the plus sign, and it will lead you to your files. Find the photograph in your desktop and click ‘Open.’
Please make sure your operating system is updated to use backgrounds without a green screen.
If you’re already in a meeting and want to update your virtual background, simply look toward the bottom menu. Locate the option that reads “Stop Video,” and find the small arrow pointing up. Click the arrow (^) and you will see a pop-up menu with the option “Choose Virtual Background.” From there, follow the step 5 above.
