SD Italian FF Presents: Caravaggio – The Soul and The Blood
The San Diego Italian Film Festival presents: Caravaggio – L’anima e il sangue  Directed by Jesus Garces Lambert | 90 minutes This incredible documentary is a journey through the life, works, and struggles of the great artist Michelangelo Merisi, who took on the name of his hometown, Caravaggio. His life as well as his art was marked by lights and shadows, genius and intemperance, contrasts and contradictions. A revolutionary artist, he was often not so beloved by his contemporaries. He travelled Italy in search of good fortune or perhaps in search of himself, escaping the enemies he always seemed to make along the way, from Milan to Venice, Rome, Naples, Malta, and Sicily. Even his death seems a twist of fate: he died in Porto Ercole, one step away from Rome and salvation. As tickets for this series often sell out, we encourage you to buy tickets online in advance. All films in the series in Italian will have English subtitles.
  • Advance tickets are available online through San Diego Italian Film Festival.com until the afternoon of the screening.
  • Unless noted online at San Diego Italian Film Festival.com  as Sold Out, available tickets can be purchased at the Box office the Night of. (Sorry-MOPA does not have information as to ticket availability)
  • The Box office will open about 45 mins before the screening
  • Cost: $12 General Admission; $8 SDIFF and MOPA Members, Students & Active Military
